About the Game
Ames is a fictional, slightly futuristic roleplaying game. The game has been open since 2006 until present. It is a play-by-post roleplaying game where the roleplayers will post back and forth with their characters to flesh out their own stories. Roleplaying is fantastic for those who love to write, love to write creatively and those that like make believe. Ames is geared towards roleplayers are in their late teens and up, due to the content of the posts that may occur. We also do not allow for players that identify themselves as being 13 years of age or younger.

About the Plot
It can be confusing at first, all these acronyms floating around. Here's the very basics of each group that exists currently in the game:

• B.I.R.D. - intelligence agency that 'oversees' the city
• C.O.U.G.H. - head of all things medical, they run the hospital
• F.A.I.N.T.S. - military group, in charge of bringing new people into the city and border patrol
• F.E.A.T.H.E.R. - the agricultural, environmental and ecological department
• Project E.E.M.U. - a group that only wishes to protect their own culture and heritage; wants to take down B.I.R.D.

There is another major group in the city as Ames as well: La Resistenza. They are a grassroots kind of organization that runs itself quite like an underground gang. Their goals are to bring as many healthy individuals (who were not approved of by the city) into the city as it is the only safe haven in the world that's considered truly protected.

Ames is a city that came into existence out of necessity. The world was being ravaged by the avian influenza virus (influenza A H5N1) and the city was built for the sole purpose of preserving culture, intelligence, historoy. It was a global initiative, for those who believe in it.
