British Intelligence Restriction Department - B.I.R.D.

B.I.R.D. was formed in Kent, England on November 12, 2007. It's mandate was to seek and destroy any individuals that were host of the avian influenza. At the current moment, it's current mandates and goals are not available for public knowledge. But there is some information that is available for public knowledge. There is a public building for the organization, it happens to be on the second to fourth floors of a building. The first/ground floor is actually commerical and has shops. Very handy. There are two known teams in B.I.R.D. Kingfishers is a known team that deals with immigration. They screen all potential Ames candidates and deal with any issues that may occur at the quarantine process. The other known team is the Passerines, who have control over the media that is allowed into Ames. There are rumors of other teams, but those aren't made public knowledge. No one really knows what they do, only that there has to be more to B.I.R.D. than immigration and media.

Each B.I.R.D. member is handpicked for their abilities, for their talents, for their skills. Some of them know fifty languages. Some of them know how to kill someone without a blink of the eye and without breaking a sweat. Others know how to make any kind of alcoholic drink known to mankind and others... Well, they all have their own talents. They all know what they're doing and they're all very talented at it. Forget anything you ever thought you knew about the world of super sleathy spies. B.I.R.D. is run by a Director who's office door is never open and no one ever sees anyone entering the room. He (or she) is never seen and no one knows anything about him (or her) beyond his/her codename: Swift. In fact, no one really knows much about anyone in this place. They're all kind of overly secretive and hiding something about themselves. You might not even know their real name if you were to meet someone who belongs to this organization.

Most B.I.R.D. members have the working title of Operative. Other suggested attached titles include (if you're into technology): hacker, computer specialist, information technology expert. If you're into going undercover, Operative pretty much covers it all unless you want to call yourself a bartender or a waitress. As someone who deals with immigration, 'Immigration Officer' can be a pretty handy title to have printed on a business card or onto a shiny badge to go along with your (very realistic) fake identification. For those into media control and such, suggested attached titles (to go along with Operative) include journalist, reporter, broadcaster and media darling. Whatever you might do as a member of B.I.R.D., just remember that there are eyes everywhere. There is always someone watching you, there is always someone overhearing you and, most certainly, the Director can and will see all.
